Neo-Western Movies: 50 Visions of the Modern West & New Frontiers

In neo-western movies the themes of traditional historically set westerns are taken and inserted in more modern settings, though still mostly take place in the American West, though there are exceptions to this. Neo-western may be mixed with other genres, including science fiction, such as Logan (2017) and Serenity (2005) and certain vampire movies such as Near Dark (1987) and From Dusk Till Dawn (1996). So called Meat Pie Westerns, those set in an Australian environment, are sometimes considered to be a sub-genre of the neo-western.
