Naugros' Attempt to Remove Subjectivity From a "Best Movies" List
- Page 3
Any methodology used to remove subjectivity from a "best movies" list is flawed, even this one. But I hope I managed to get closer than others. To reduce as much subjectivity as I could, I cross-referenced the movies listed on ten separate lists from reputable and varied sources: Empire Magazine, 1,001 Movies to See Before You Die, IMDb, Reddit, Rotten Tomatoes, They Shoot Pictures Don't They, AFI, Roger Ebert, the New York Times and the Academy Awards. Any movie that appeared on six or more of these lists is included on this list. Yes, it came to an even 200. Imagine that! In case you're curious, only seven movies appeared on all ten lists: "12 Angry Men", "Citizen Kane", "Dr. Strangelove", "The Godfather", "The Maltese Falcon", "On the Waterfront" and "Treasure of the Sierra Madre". If I were to list MY Top 200 movies, it would only vaguely resemble this list. There are many on here that I do not personally like.
