Movies That Should Have Won the Best Picture Oscar - Page 3

As the Oscars are once again upon us, I've gone over the Best picture nominations for each year and have listed, in order, the pictures I believe should have won. I limited the choices to pictures nominated for best picture, so a lot of great films were ineligible. ( There are 2 exceptions: 1949 and 1968. Those two films were nominated and won in other categories, but were not nominated for best picture, even though they are both cinema landmarks. I picked them anyway.). The discrepancies in dates of some films has to do with the difference between release date and Oscar Eligibility date. Oscar eligibility is based on when the movie was released IN LOS ANGELES. In some cases, like Henry V and Casablanca, those dated fell in different calendar years from their respective release dates.
