Movies That Are as Good as (Or Better Than!) the Book - Page 3

Many people say that the book is always better, but that's not quite true. Yes, books can be longer than movies, and they can include people's inner thoughts, which is really hard to do in a movie, but sometimes the movie overcomes those challenges. Sometimes, the movie is different enough to the book that they don't feel much like each other, but both are amazing pieces of art. Sometimes the book is really bloated with secondary storylines or unimportant characters, but the movies cut away the unnecessary bits. Sometimes the book is terrible, and the movie makes it bearable. For the movies on this list, it doesn't matter exactly how it differs from the book; all are movies that are at least as good as the book. (Note: I only included movies/books that I had both seen AND read, so if you think something is missing, it's very possible that I haven't seen the movie or read the book. It's also possible that I think the movie is terrible compared to the book.)
