The short "100 Years at the Movies" was commissioned by Turner Classic Movies (TCM), which began airing on April 18, 1994--exactly 100 years after the first commercial showing of a motion picture in the US. Chuck Workman created a montage of clips from 232 movies spanning a century of American film (no foreign movies). The short aired on TCM's first day of broadcasting and countless times after that. You can find it on YouTube and it is well worth the watch.
I went to filmsite.org to identify the movies that the clips in this short came from (https://www.filmsite.org/100yearsatmovies.html). Three were unidentified, so only 229 movies are included in this list.
List image is from the ending part of "100 Years", featuring a clip of Edwin S. Porter's "Rescued from an Eagle's Nest" inset inside the zeros.
