All Hugo and Retro-Hugo award winners for all written categories (no movies, podcasts, etc.). Some of the things listed here may be an expanded novel, but won the award for a shorter length. I'm not here for quality control you guys can figure it out.
I have a weird fascination with this specific award. It's so homogenous most of the time, and I'm curious to know if this is actually good SFF or if we can only rate SFF looking back retrospectively rather than in the moment.
And I wanna see if there are any maniacs out there who have actually read the whole list (kudos to you!)
Fun facts from when I was compiling the list:
- This Immortal shared a win for best novel with Dune (imagine sharing an award with DUNE the megagiant of SF, damn)
- 1970s dramatic presentation winner was the footage of the moon landing. Nothing can beat reality, lol.
- 2015 was absolutely savage, with No Award winning in 5 categories (and being in the top nominees in several others)
