Most Entertaining Movies Per Decade (1940 - 1949) - Page 3

The studios were at the height of their powers. There were more stars in Hollywood than in the night sky. Week after week, Hollywood churned out movies that were instant classics. With WWII occupying newspaper's front pages, movies from this decade are amazingly over-the-top patriotic. Oscar winners tended to deal with war, soldiers, and making the hard choices... but the entertaining movies were pure escapism for those already getting enough bad news in their daily lives.
