Maureen's 300 Favorite Movies
I decided to tackle making this list after seeing examples, and mine is idiosyncratic & without any desire to list everybody's else's greatest movies. I don't like gore, slapstick, violence, & sci fi-- just as a personal preference--not as a judgment on anybody else's likes. You will, however, find examples of these things in some of the films included, because there is an exception to every rule. I am of a certain age, so you will find older movies rather than newer ones for the most part, because the movies have left me behind. I looked at the recent Oscar winners, and for the most part, I don't even want to see them, much less add them to my list. I love musicals and romances, and you will not find Pulp Fiction or Kill Bill on my list, but there are serious films included such as Schindler's List. Some of my all-time favorites would include Doctor Zhivago, Love Actually, Call Me By Your Name, Bohemian Rhapsody, Chicago, and Moonstruck. So there...
