Markd9528's Favourites Reads of the Past 10 Years

As a result of illness-related early retirement from academic life, I have had enough idle time to read/reread around 800 books (and create a fair number of list challenges). As at May 2019, these are my favourite 20% of the 800, although admittedly some are of mainly sentimental value. The lesser-known works are well worth seeking out.
(I mention my former academic career merely to explain away my long-winded list descriptions.)
