Indeed, some of these works have improved in my estimation over time, maybe because I'm now more empathic, better able to appreciate social satire and probably a bit sentimental for childhood.
The first read was generally as a high school student or 20 something; the follow up read between 10 and 50 years later. So there's nothing ultramodern here.
