Lost Films or Are They? - Page 2

Thousands of films before 1930 are lost, as well as many early sound pictures. Some were lost to studio fires (Universal in 1924, Fox in 1937 & MGM in 1965). Some deliberately-1920's Der Januskopf (by court order due being an illegal version of Jekyll & Hyde), most of Australia's early films (in 1926 they were used to make a huge fire for a film), or to re-used the film stock (like some early episodes of Dr.Who). Also if a film was a remake, the studio may want nobody to remember the original (like Fredric March's Jekyll & Hyde & 1940's Swiss Family Robinson, thankfully they survived). War also did damage (1926 Japanese horror A Page of Madness was buried by the director to preserve it but there are missing parts). Anyways if anyone can help find (or find the missing parts) of the following films you're a film hero. BTW-Devil Wolf of Shadow Mountain & Las Noces el Hombre Lobo may not exist at all.
