Largest U.S. Cities (1960)

These were the most populous U.S. cities in 1960, the year of the 18th U.S. Census. This was the first census in which the combined population of the top 10 actually declined (with New York, Chicago and Detroit all dropping in population for the first time), and the last with St. Louis in the top 10, but it was also the first census with all 50 states, and Houston's first appearance in the top 10.
