Largest U.S. Cities (1900)

These were the most populous U.S. cities in 1900, the year of the 12th U.S. Census. With this decade, New York becomes the first U.S. city to surpass 3 million people (in large part due to the 1898 consolidation of the five boroughs); Buffalo returns to the top 10 after a 40-year absence; and San Francisco and Cincinnati make their last appearances in the top 10.
