Kevin's Dark Tourism Sites

History is not pretty. It is filled with man's inhumanity to man. We cannot erase it . We must learn from it so as not to repeat it. Societies have chosen to preserve many places so that we can. I have many memories of these sites. From a young Irish woman sharing heartbreaking stories of men struggling for Irish independence, to a middle aged Polish woman daily sharing the horrors of Auschwitz, to a solo walk in the first German cemetery outside of Germany honoring its war dead. Economics dictated only one dark cross for every four men. Some were caused by the power hungry others by greed or human stupidity. If a dark reminder has not been on your past travels please consider seeking a few out when you travel again. WE CANNOT FORGET!
