June 2020 TBR of D.K.

May was a difficult personal month, so difficult, in fact, that I played a lot of Sudoku instead of doing as much reading. I did reread House of Stairs by William Sleator, one of my favorite books as a kid, and was relieved to see that it held up spectacularly. Mwah! Charles Beaumont was one of the main writers working with the original Twilight Zone; his short story collection Perchance to Dream was another standout. But it was Monday Starts on Saturday by Boris and Arkady Strugatsky that was the top read for the month. No plot, all setting--but WHAT a setting! The audio version is great :) The cover image comes from my most anticipated read of June, How to Invent Everything by Ryan North, a goofy sort-of-nonfiction book written for time travelers whose time machines break down, and who need to restart civiliazation. It seems to be written in more or less the same spirit as Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
