IndieWire's the 20 Most Controversial Films of the Decade

"Movie controversies began the 2010s on a volatile note with the release of "A Serbian Film," in which baby pornography is a plot point no one should ever have to experience. The decade ended with "Joker," the Warner Bros. revisionist comic book drama that sparked a worldwide conversation about the capacity of films to encourage and incite violence among audience members. To the shock of nobody, the years in between were full of movie uproar over un-simulated sex scenes, whitewashing, blackface, and more.
