If You Didn't Like It, You Didn't Get It

Here are a few incredible films that tend to be misunderstood. They often use allegory and metaphors to get their message across, and are unfortunately taken literally. Some are character dramas billed as comedies which gets people offside. Or maybe it's that they hold a mirror up to humanity, and people are uncomfortable with what they see reflected back. If you see a film on this list that you didn't like, I encourage you to give it another go, look beyond the surface and really listen to what the filmmakers are saying. The message might be subtle, but that is often the beauty of such films. Vice versa, maybe they are simply meant to be funny and light-hearted, and are taken too seriously. Sometimes all we need is to be entertained.
