Highest-Rated Books by the Most Popular Authors

The authors are listed in order of their popularity, being amongst the top 200 authors on LibraryThing. Omitted authors include co-authors who were not the primary author on any work, and corporate "authors" such as DK and Reader's Digest. The work listed for each author has the highest average rating for the author. I tried to omit anything that was a compendium or omnibus, or a collection of stories, essays, or articles that were not initially published as that collection. However, because I lack familiarity with many of them, especially fantasy authors, I may have accidentally let some books of this type slip through. If so, I apologize. But it's just for fun anyway. I thought it was interesting that many of the highest-rated books were not the most well-known books by those authors.
