The Greatest 100 Movies of All Time
- Page 2
I compiled this list based on the most recent lists from 20 different sources, both Critical and Popular, including IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes, Sight & Sound, Business Insider/Metacritic, Stacker, Filmsite.com, Cinemaholic, American Film Institute, Cinema Archives, Entertainment Weekly, Time Magazine, The Hollywood Reporter, Rolling Stone, Timeout.com, Total Film, the Spectator, Roger Ebert, & FilmFour. I came up with my own rudimentary point system to assign points to movies based on their position on each source's respective listings - no complicated algorithms here. :-D For the couple of sites that didn't actually rank them, I also allocated points based again on what I thought was fair without skewing, but I hope with enough lists, it results in a fairly good idea of where the tastes lie. Admittedly, people will say looks more skewed towards the critics' side rather than the popular side which would've likely resulted in Shawshank being in Top 5 rather than 58. :) But I think it's fair.
