Greaterbooks.com: 1650 to 1900

This challenge is the second of a series of four which highlight critically acclaimed books both historical and modern. It is derived from the latest version of "The Short List" at the "GreaterBooks.com" website and, IMHO, is the most thorough & authoritative of the set of four. ("The Short List" only features books that appear on at least 5 out of 47 source lists.)
The books in each challenge are in descending order based on the number of source lists in which they appear. For example, books 177-220 are each on 5 source lists, while the top book ("Pride and Prejudice"!!!) is on 30 source lists.
I am publishing the challenges in reverse chronological order:
* 1900 to Present (available at the link)
* 1650 to 1900
* 700 to 1650
* Prehistory to 700 A.D.
