Films Umbrellas Saw in July 2020

Here are all the films I watched in July 2020 - a record-breaking month for me in terms of the number seen - arranged in order of how much I liked them, most liked first. There were a lot of good ones this month - I'd thoroughly recommend at least the top 30 - and very few I disliked. My admiration for Preston Sturges and George Cukor in particular has grown further, and I'd also pick out the less well-known Baby Face for anyone who wants to get a feel for how different pre-Code Hollywood was compared with what followed after the shutters came down. At the other end of the scale only Inland Empire really rubbed me up the wrong way, and I'd recommend avoiding it unless you're a huge fan not just of David Lynch but of Eraserhead specifically; for anyone else it's liable to be a wasted 3 hours.
