The year sound took over. Oscar winners like "In Old Arizona" & "White Shadows in the South Seas". Mickey Mouse's sound debut with "Steamboat Willie". All sorts of stars-Charlie Chaplin in "The Circus", Conrad Veidt in Victor Hugo's "The Man Who Laughs"(the inspiration for Batman's enemy The Joker), Clara Bow in "Red Hair", Lon Chaney in "Laugh, Clown, Laugh", and Laurel & Hardy in "Two Tars". Films from France, Russia, Japan & Germany. The reason "The Fall of the House of Usher" is listed twice is that 2 versions were made-1 French & 1 British. Hopefully all these films are available for viewing. Update 2020-Since publishing this list found out 4 Devils is a lost film. Hopefully somewhere there is a copy stashed away!
