Jason Statham (/ˈsteɪθəm/; born 7/26/1967) is an English actor. Typecast as the antihero, he's known for his action-thriller roles as tough, irredeemable machiavellian characters. As a youth he began practising martial arts and kickboxing, recreationally while working at local market stalls. An avid footballer and diver, he was on Britain's national diving team, competing in the 1990 Commonwealth Games. He was asked to model for French Connection, Hilfiger and Levi's in various campaigns. Statham's past working in market stalls inspired his casting in the Guy Ritchie crime films Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998) and Snatch (2000). While his career has been criticised for lacking depth and variety he has also been praised for leading the 2000s / 2010s action film resurgence. Per the BBC, his films from 2002 to 2017 generated an US$1.5 billion (£1.1 billion) in ticket sales, making him one of the film industry's most bankable stars. How many of his films have you seen???
