Lucia Bose was an Italian actress, who became popular in the beginning of 1950s. She became famous for winning the Miss Italy beauty contest in 1947, ahead of such future actresses as Gina Lollobrigida and Silvana Mangano. She played roles in first films of Michelangelo Antonioni: "Story of a Love Affair" (1950) and "The Lady Without Camelias" (1953), as well as in some iconic films of Italian neorealism such as "No Peace Under the Olive Tree" (1950) and "Rome 11:00" (1952). Having left her successful film career for almost 12 years, having moved to Spain and devoting herself to her husband and children, she returned to the cinema in the late 1960s. After that, she played in a small number of films, such as "Satyricon Fellini" (1969), "Metello" (1970), "Natalie Grainger" (1972) and others.
I was impressed by her incredible talent when I watched Antonioni's films. She was definitely one of the most beautiful and elegant actresses who had ever appeared on the cinema screen.
