I've compiled a list of as many fairy tale retellings as I could find on my read list and my TBR. There are certainly tons more out there, but I focused on the ones I had already earmarked. I've read almost half of these, and have several more on my shelves. For the most part, these are YA and adult, with a few middle grade and a couple for children.
One of my favorite things to read is fairy tale retellings. Probably a reason I love YA is that so many retellings happen to be YA. Since I was little I loved fairy tales, and in high school I started seeking out the original Grimm and Anderson tales - the ones that weren't made PC for kids or altered by Disney. In college I took as many courses related to fairy tales and folklore as I could. I even considered seeking a masters in Folklore Studies, even though it would be highly impractical.
