Atlas Obscura is one of the largest, most well-known and most impeccably awesome archives of amazing places, foods and experiences in the world.
Here is their list of places to see in the Graveyard of Empires, Afghanistan! From a magnificent blue mosque surrounded by thousands of white doves, to a once massive Buddha sculpture destroyed by the taliban, to splashes of blue in an otherwise monotonous moonscape, to a museum dedicated to overthrowing the soviets, this country with a slight war edge has some awesome hidden treasures. How many of these interesting places have you been to?
