Even More Foreign-Language Films Oscar Didn't Like 2009-2014 - Page 10

It's nice that the Oscars accept films from more countries, but it would be even nicer if they nominated more non-european film. Ever notice that the same countries get nominated year after year? I thought I'd probably recognize more titles, but most of these films never played near me. A few that stand out-The highly acclaimed French film "The Intouchables", "Blancanieves" , "Of Gods & Men" & "Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives". Two that weren't even submitted are my favorite "Let the Right One In" from Sweden(why did the American remake make the Mom a religious fanatic?), & the French film of Harlan Coben's "Tell No One". Now that's a head scratcher.
