I have read a lot of books, but these are the worst of the worst. It pains me to leave "Even Cowgirls Get The Blues" off this list, as it was pretentious, stupid, and infuriating, but it didn't quite out-awful these twelve. However, it is the only book I have ever actually thrown against the wall because it was just that annoying.
Some of these authors have written other books I quite enjoyed, like Anne Tyler, Stephen King, and Peggy J. Herring, but clanked it with these.
"A Dirty Job" is the most sophomoric piece of frat boy stupidity I have ever come across.
"Mother" is the single worst book I have ever read in my life. I can't even begin to enumerate its awe-inspiring awfulness.
