Collect-a-thons are games where you are required to collect X number of things to advance further into the game. The only way to advance in these games is not by reaching a specific destination but by collecting specific numbers of specific items. Some titles have hundreds of different things to collect while others can have thousands of different items to collect across the expansive worlds.
