Classic Foods of Every Canadian Province & Territory, and U.S. State (That Locals Eat)
These are classic foods from every Province, State, and Territory in Canada and the U.S. that locals actually eat - as in not necessarily the foods that you immediately associate with that region, because they're often touristy foods. Yes, Québécois do eat Poutine, Texans do love their barbecue (especially brisket), you can get some great Nashville hot chicken, a Hot Brown in Kentucky, eat until you drop at a Vegas buffet, grab a slice of New York pizza (or Chicago deep dish) or a lobster roll along the East Coast, and crab along the West Coast, all at some very famous restaurants. But it's quite likely you'll be surrounded by other tourists. However, there are exceptions to this rule - Philly residents love their cheesesteaks, and the people of New Haven (the birthplace of North American style pizza) have their go-to place for apizza (pronounced "ah-beets", like it's supposed to be), and are fiercely loyal to their favorite.
