When we're sick, there are certain foods and drinks that you tend to turn to. Those things are different for everybody. Different cultures have different varieties of chicken soup, different foods that are typical of sick people, and different drinks. Sweets and junk food can boost your mood. Hot, cold, and carbonated liquids and semi-solids soothe the throat. Honey helps with colds, peppermint with headaches and stomach upset, ginger for nausea, dark chocolate for migraines, citrus for colds and flus, etc. Sometimes, it depends on what you were given growing up. I had Jell-O, pudding, toast, lemon-lime soda, and ginger ale when sick as a child. Those tend to be the things I associate with being sick and gravitate to when I'm under the weather. Your family probably has its own foods it gives when children are sick. I did research for this list to not exclude different cultures. Enjoy and get better soon. I hope we will.
