Blunderman's 102 Most Important Films in Movie History

My time spent on Prime Video, Netflix, Starz, and HBO Max has helped me accumulate a great knowledge of movies. Here, now, is a list of 102 films that I feel are the most important in movie history. These films represent the progression of the industry (from the simple documentary of A Train Arriving at La Ciotat, to storytelling films with A Trip to the Moon, to multicamera storytelling with The Great Train Robbery, to epic productions like Intolerance, to breakthroughs in sound like Steamboat Willie). Also here are: films that best exemplify certain genres (From Action films like Indiana Jones to Westerns like Stagecoach), periods (Casablanca is a quintessential 40's film, as is E.T. for the 80's), and movements (German Expressionsim and French New Wave Cinema); films featuring advancements in special effects and animation; films that were breakthroughs in social issues (bi-racial marriage and LGBTQIA+ representation); and other films that changed the film industry forever.
