Best Rapper of Every Year (1980-2019)
This is a list of the best rapper from every year, in order from 1979 to 2019 (so that's 40 years). Each rapper is matched up with a year, and in that year they were the sole rapper who was arguably the "king of rap," or, in Nicki Minaj's case, the "queen of rap." I tried to have it so that there were no repeats of rappers, even though if this were 100% accurate there would be (Eminem would be king in 2002, Kendrick in 2017, 2Pac in 1995). Hopefully you agree with many of these choices, there is logic to back up every single one of them. And yes, arguably 2 Chainz has made the biggest impact this year out of any rapper. So far, he's put out the best mainstream hip-hop album of the year, and also managed to land features with artists like Ariana Grande and Lil Wayne. Plus, his song "Money in the Way" has the best beat of the year so far. It is possible 2 Chainz aka Tity Boi will not be the king of 2019 by the end of the year, but we will see.
