Best or Formative Movies

Some of these are on here because I love them, some are on here because they shaped my brain regardless of my opinion on them. This is in part because, while I have watched over 500 movies in my life (i have a spreadsheet of them), I struggle to call 100 of them "favorites". I ran out of movies i would call "favorite" at around 60 or so. I added the movies in no particular order, and partway through adding them I sorted by date-of-release, then added more in no particular order, then chose a few to drag-and-drop to higher on the list because i didn't like it to be sorted so much by release date (and to group together a few series) but then i gave up on organizing them, so don't put any stock in the ordering here
