Best Costume Design: Black and White

Originally, the Oscar for Best Costume Design was awarded individually to black-and-white and colour films. Although these two subcategories were merged in 1957 and 1958, the awards otherwise remained separate from 1948-1966, when two films were appreciated by the Academy at each ceremony for the talent of their designers and the magnificence of their costumes. This list compiles each of the B&W movies that received the prestigious yet now-defunct award dedicated solely to them, with many deserving winners that you will hopefully have been lucky enough to see!
