Best 10 Hollywood Epics According to Collider

Back in Hollywood's Golden Age , sprawling big-budget epics were all the rage. The American Film Institute defines epics as "a genre of large-scale films set in a cinematic interpretation of the past," and during the height of the American studio system, they were cinematic events unlike any others. Here are ten of the best. Not sure why Collider considers, "The Best Years of Our Lives" an epic, though. Great film, but an epic?
