Becoming Well Read: Classics - Page 2

It takes more than reading a few classics to become well read. Ideally one should read widely, across all genres.
In a bid to help myself get a little closer to being able to consider myself well read, I'm putting together a collection of TBR lists - of 50 books each - the reading of which should help get me a little closer to my goal. I naturally veer more towards some genres and not others (I tend to avoid romance and Young adult, for example), and I'm hoping this will help get me on track a little more.
If any obvious examples are missing from certain lists, there's a very good chance I'll have read it already.
This list contains classics and modern classics.
