Just finished the 9th day of the Rochester International Jazzfest which has artists from all over the world including Germany, Japan, England, Norway, Finland, Iceland, etc and headliners which included Spyro Gyro, Shiela E, Booker T & Robin Thicke.
If you like jazz, this festival always has a great diversity of styles and instrumentation to suit everyone's tastes
My top 5
1) Ranky Tanky - wonderful Grammy winning band inspired by Gullah style of S Carolina
2) Ms Lisa Fischer - of "20 Feet From Stardom" fame with a rich and vibrant voice
3) Jonathan Scales Fourchestra - proving steel drums are a valid instrument for serious and fun music
4) Kurt Elling and Superblue - he took it up a notch with more electric instrumentation and Tommy Smith joining in
5) Connie Han - agressive piano playing from American songbook as well as originals
Looking forward to 2023
