i could write an essay about each one, but will kindly refrain from doing so. quite a few of these tell familiar stories in fairly predictable ways, yet to a degree that is fresh, emotional, engaging, and memorable. i attempted to only consider movies that are enjoyable without needing to watch an entire franchise. i have not included movies such as 12 Year a Slave, Schindler's List, or Passion of the Christ which are nearly perfect movies but which do not--in my humble opinion--possess a certain rewatchability. these are all films which i could watch over and over, and indeed have.
