Albums by Nirvana
Nirvana was formed in 1965 by songwriter-performers Patrick Campell-Lyons and George Alex Spyropoulos. For a time in 1967-8, the band included Ray Singer (guitar/vocals), Brian Henderson (bass), Sylvia A. Schuster (cello), Michael Coe (viola and French horn). The duo generazlly employed session musicians, and their first album, The Story of Simon Simopath, which was also the first rock opera, was conducted by Syd Dale. Spyropoulos left after To Markos III was barely marketed on vinyl (it was reissued in 1987 as Black Flower). Campbell-Lyons continued to use the name for two further albums, on which he worked with Mel Collins, Patrick Joseph Kelly, Steve Bird, Jade Warrior (Tony Duhig, Glyn Havard, and Jon Field) before embarking a solo career, although Spyropoulos would rejoin for later albums and concerts. Keith Smart would later join on guitar and sitar. After receiving an $80k settlement from the Seattle band, they attempted to cover their songs, but halted when Kurt Cobain died.
