From the anthology Adaptations: From Short Story to Big Screen: 35 Great Short Stories That Inspired Great Films (2005), edited by Stephanie Harrison. These 37 movies were based on the 35 short stories in the book. "The Fly" was adapted twice, as was "The Lady with the Pet Dog."
I hope there will be a sequel, because there are other forgotten short stories made into great movies—I'm thinking especially of "The Boy with Green Hair," by Betsy Beaton.
