Books for the unregenerate hippie- books that inspired us, books by the beats and hipsters that pointed the way, books by and for us from the period itself , books about the counterculture, and books that carry on the ideals. It wasn't just sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll, it was a different way to look at the same ole same old. 1967 to 1972, from the Haight to Boston common, was a trip. I know, I was there, and I don't remember a thing. That's why I read and reread the books now. You think of how it was and remember how it might have been. Far out, Catherwood, roll a couple of bummers and leave them on the side table.
