A Linguistic Pilgrimage

So you're sick of reading only things that were originally written in English and want to branch out a tad. Well, here are some recommendations for twelve languages, five books a piece: Arabic, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Swedish. I'd recommend more in more tongues, but alas: I'm going to have to read a lot more for that.
P.S. Of course Rosie sludged their way all over by claiming to have read the first four works on this list without, I imagine, having even looked at them. I doubt they could find a single country whose major language is Arabic on a map.
