While looking at a magazine that said it was "By gamers, for gamers" my daughter said she wasn't much of a gamer. I don't know if this is someone gatekeeping her or something from herself, but for someone who plays as much Minecraft and Animal Crossing as she does not to consider herself a gamer confused me.
I decided to, at least, give her some historical perspective on games in the hopes that it might help her feel more like a gamer. Whether its Candy Crush, Madden or CoD, if its your hobby, you're a gamer. So, with some knowledge of where games come from, I hope to give her the confidence to consider herself a gamer.
This list is games I intend to try with her. Some she will hate. Some she will only play for a few seconds. But some she may love. If nothing else, she can learn a tiny bit.
