50 more works of modern ( or, in the case of Conrad, modernist) fiction that , when taken together, make up what I feel is a good expanded core reading list. Once again, I limited the list to one book per author and did not include short story collections; Even after creating this SECOND list, I still had to eliminate many great and important books to keep the list at 50.
