50 Memorable Movie Cameos (Stacker) - Page 2

There's almost nothing better than your favorite celebrity suddenly popping up during a great movie, appearing for just a few minutes—or even a few seconds—to offer viewers a tease of their talent. Besides being merely memorable, cameos can also add a layer of emotional significance for audiences. Just take a look at the original Broadway stars of "Wicked," Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel, turning up in Oz in the 2024 silver-screen adaptation of the musical. Or consider Liv Tyler showing up at the end of 2025's "Captain America: Brave New World," reprising her character from "The Incredible Hulk" and offering fans some much-needed closure 17 years later. Other cameos gain more meaning with time, like David Lynch's brief role in the 2022 movie "The Fabelmans"—this would ultimately prove to be the legendary filmmaker's final on-screen appearance prior to his death in January 2025.
The circumstances leading up to these bit parts always differ. A cameo can be the result of a friendship
