I thought many of the lists on this site are very anglocentric, with many British and American books. So I decided to make this list of Nordic authors that you might want to read. How you already read some of them? How many?
The list contains only one book by each author, and it may not be the most popular one. Many of these books are either personal favorites of mine or high on my TBR-list. The books I included range over most genres: fiction, non-fiction, poems, plays and childrens books. I also only chose books where I could find English translations.
I tried to use authors from all the Nordic countries and territories, however the Swedish authors are a little overrepresented. This being due to my own bias, combined with Sweden being the largest and most populous of the Nordic countries.
