Blondie is an American rock band co-founded by singer Debbie Harry & guitarist Chris Stein. The band was a pioneer in the punk/new wave scene of the mid-1970s in NYC. Their first 2 albums contained strong elements of these genres, and although highly successful in the UK and Australia, Blondie was seen as an underground band in the US until the release of Parallel Lines in 1978. Over the next 5 years, the band had tons of hit singles including "Heart of Glass", "Call Me", "Atomic", "The Tide Is High" & "Rapture". The band is noted for its eclectic mix of musical styles, incorporating disco, pop, reggae, and early rap. Blondie disbanded after the release of its 6th studio album, The Hunter, in 1982. Debbie continued to pursue a solo career after taking a few years to care for Chris, who was diagnosed with pemphigus, a rare disease. Inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame in 2006, Blondie has sold >40 million records worldwide and is still active. How many of these songs have you heard???
