Since Turkish matinee idol Cuneyt Arkin (1937-2022) died today in Istanbul at age 85, we thought we'd post a list in his tribute. Arkin was a box office king around the same era of the 1960s, '70s, and '80s, that the late Burt Reynolds (1936-2018) was here in the USA. Arkin is best know for "The Man Who Saved the World," aka "The Turkish Star Wars." For our image, we have Buster Crabbe's original "Flash Gordon" film series circa 1936, but we will go with the more recent 1980 film version of the beloved science fiction character, for this list.
