With adaptations of Junji Ito's Uzumaki, Jodorowsky & Moebius' The Incal and Arthur C. Clarke's Rendezvous with Rama in development, I got to thinking which other favourite books & comix I'd like to see adapted. While none of them necessarily need film versions, it's always interesting to see a good director's take on another's work - although some seem nigh impossible to translate to screen.
This list also doubles as a recommended reading list.
Mostly fantasy & SF.
Note: Elidor has been adapted to TV | Barsoom series arrived DOA with Disney's John Carter misfire | I'm going to ignore Wes Craven's Swamp Thing (1982) | Pilgrim's Progress has been adaptated, but not on the scale of, say, The Lord of the Rings.
